Yes we can confirm you can also use these devices through the USB-C data ports. (Will also support a 3.5mm Aux to Type-C adapter) 

Please note: When using USB-C headphones, please ensure you change the audio source settings. 

System Preferences > Sound > Output > then select your headphones
