We suggest using BlackMagic Speed Test to verify speeds for effective troubleshooting of this issue.
We've devised a solution to enhance speeds on Windows host devices. Please refer to the steps outlined below for implementation:
1. With the USB4 enclosure connected to the host device, open the "File Explorer" application
2. Select "This PC" and right-click on the drive listed, then select Properties
3. While under Properties of the drive:
- Select the Hardware tab, the drive name, and then Properties
- From here, you will select "Change Settings"
4. In the new window, select the Policies tab:
- Under Removal Policy, select "Better Performance"
- This enables write caching in Windows, but you must use the Safely Remove Hardware notification icon to disconnect the device safely.
- Under Write-caching Policy, select "Enable write caching on the drive"
- This improves system performance by enabling write caching on the device.
