Slim X3 Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard, USB-C charging cable, user manual.

Step 1: Charge the Keyboard

Connect the included USB-C cable to charge before first use. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours and provides up to 2 weeks of regular use with backlighting off.

Step 2: Turn On and Pair

Turn on the keyboard using the power switch on the back edge.
Press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button (Fn + 1, 2, or 3) for 3 seconds until the corresponding channel LED flashes.
On your Mac, open System Settings > Bluetooth and select "Satechi X3 Keyboard" from the device list.

Step 3: Switch Between Devices

The X3 supports up to 3 Bluetooth devices. Press Fn + 1, Fn + 2, or Fn + 3 to switch between paired devices instantly.

Step 4: Adjust Backlight

Press the backlight brightness keys (F5 to decrease, F6 to increase) to adjust LED brightness. The keyboard has multiple brightness levels plus off.

Pairing on Windows

Satechi Bluetooth keyboards must be paired through the Control Panel > Devices and Printers on Windows (not Bluetooth Settings). See our full guide: Connecting Your Keyboard to Windows 10/11

Troubleshooting

Keyboard Not Discoverable

Turn the keyboard off, wait 5 seconds, turn it back on, and enter pairing mode again. Make sure the Bluetooth channel you selected (1, 2, or 3) is not already paired to another device.

Function Keys Not Working on Mac

The top row keys default to macOS media/function shortcuts. If they are sending F1-F12 instead, press Fn + the key to toggle behavior, or check System Settings > Keyboard to adjust function key behavior.

Backlight Drains Battery Fast

Higher backlight levels reduce battery life significantly. Turn off backlighting when not needed for maximum battery life.
