This Quick Start Guide covers setup of the Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter with 8K HDMI (ST-U4MA3M): adds 8K HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-A and USB-C data, and a 3.5mm audio jack over a USB4 connection.
Setup steps
Step 1: Connect the adapter to a USB-C port on your device.
Step 2: Use the HDMI port to output 8K HDMI to an external monitor or display – up to 60Hz.
Computer, cable and monitor need to support 8K macOS supports up to 4K at 60Hz
Step 3: Use the USB-C PD port to charge your device up to 100W and use data transfer up to 10Gbps.
~15W is used for the adapter’s operation Video output not supported
Step 4: USB-A and USB-C data ports allows for transfer data at up to 10Gbps speed.
Does not support charging or CD readers, including Apple SuperDrive
Step 5: Connect an Ethernet cable to the adapter’s Gigabit Ethernet port with up to 2.5Gbit.
Step 6: The 3.5mm audio jack supports input/output.
It may need to be connected manually during the initial connection setup on macOS by going to (System Preferences > Sound > Output/ Input > USB PnP Audio Device)
