This Quick Start Guide covers getting started with the Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter with 8K HDMI (ST-U4MA3M).

How to set up the Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter with 8K HDMI

1. Connect to a laptop: plug the adapter's USB-C (Universal Serial Bus Type-C) Cable into a USB-C port on your laptop.

   

2. Use the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) port to output 8K HDMI to an external monitor or display, up to 30Hz. Your computer, cable and monitor need to support 8K. macOS supports up to 4K at 60Hz.
3. Use the USB-C Power Delivery (PD) Port to charge your device up to 100W. About 15W is used for the adapter's operation.
4. Use the USB-A (Universal Serial Bus Type-A) ports to connect Universal Serial Bus (USB) devices for data transfer.
5. Connect an Ethernet cable to the adapter's Gigabit Ethernet port.
6. Connect headphones, speakers or a microphone to the 3.5mm audio jack, which supports input and output.

• Audio Jack Port: 3.5mm audio jack that supports input and output.

  

• Ethernet Port: Gigabit Ethernet.

  

Important notes for the USB4 Multiport Adapter with 8K HDMI

• USB-C Charging Port will not support data transfer or video output.
• The USB-A ports do not support charging or compact disc (CD) readers, including the Apple SuperDrive.
• On macOS, the audio jack may need to be connected manually during the initial connection setup by going to System Preferences > Sound > Output/Input > USB PnP Audio Device (PnP stands for Plug and Play).
