Is the hub backward compatible with USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 devices?
Yes, the hub supports backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. However, transfer speeds will be limited to the maximum speed of the connected device.
Can I use this hub with a USB-C smartphone or tablet?
Yes, the hub is compatible with many USB-C smartphones and tablets that support OTG (On-The-Go) functionality. It allows you to connect USB-C peripherals like flash drives or external SSDs, provided the device supports these features.
Can I use more than one external drive at a time?
Keep in mind, that each port supports 5Gbps however overall transfer speeds will drop as it is "shared" throughout the hub when connecting more than one drive. This hub is capable of reading 4 drives at a time.
Do any of the ports support video?
No, the USB-C ports on this hub will only support data transfer.
Can i use a USB-C mouse, keyboard and/or USB-C headphones?
Yes we can confirm you can also use these devices through the USB-C data ports. (Will also support a 3.5mm Aux to Type-C adapter)
Please note: When using USB-C headphones, please ensure you change the audio source settings.
System Settings > Sound > Output > then select your headphones
How long is the connecting cable?
The USB-C connecting cable is a little over 7"
What data transfer rates does the hub support?
The 4-Port hub supports USB 3.0 data transfer rates (5 Gb/s = 625 MB/s). Please ensure the hub is connected to a device with a supported USB-C port (i.e. Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB4, USB 3.1 Gen2).
Does the hub come in other colors?
Unfortunately, the hub will only be available in Space Gray in the meantime.
Can I charge multiple USB-C devices?
Unfortunately, not. The 4-Port USB-C Hub is designed for data-transfer and syncing devices such as external hard drives or flash drives, and connecting USB-C peripherals such as keyboards, headphones, or mice.
Although the output of the ports is 5V-0.7A each, this is to support BUS-powered devices that are connected to the hub. The ports on the hub are not meant to charge your devices.
