How to Clean and Maintain Your Satechi Products
Cleaning Aluminum Hubs and Docks
Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth slightly dampened with distilled water. Wipe gently in the direction of the grain. Avoid excess moisture near ports. Dry completely with a dry cloth before connecting devices.
Skip: Harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or solvents. These can damage the finish.
Keyboard Cleaning
For wireless keyboards, power off first. Use compressed air to remove dust between keys. For sticky keys, lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with distilled water and wipe the affected area. Never submerge.
Cable and Port Care
- USB-C and Thunderbolt connectors: Use a dry microfiber cloth. Remove dust gently.
- HDMI and DisplayPort: Keep caps on when not in use.
- Cables: Don't force cables into ports. Store coiled loosely, not wrapped tightly.
Cable Management
Loose cables behind your desk create a mess and can damage connectors. Use cable clips or ties to keep things organized. Leave some slack so cables aren't under constant tension.
Storage Tips
Store Satechi products in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing long-term, disconnect all cables and power. Keep original boxes for protection during travel.
General Maintenance
Check connections monthly. Loosen cables slightly if they feel stuck. Update any firmware through our support page at support.satechi.com. Keep your macOS or Windows updated for best compatibility.
