If the ESC key is flashing, it means the keyboard is set to use the F1–F12 keys as standard function keys instead of media shortcut keys.

In this mode:
- F1–F12 work as standard function keys
- Media controls (volume, brightness, playback) require holding the Fn key

To switch back to media shortcut mode:
1. Press Fn + ESC once.
2. The ESC key will stop flashing.

When the ESC key is no longer flashing:
- Media shortcut keys can be used without holding Fn
- Function keys (F1–F12) require holding the Fn key
