How to turn the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard on or off

To turn the SM3 keyboard on or off, move the switch on the top of the device to the "on" position.

Note: If the SM3 keyboard does not power on, charge the keyboard and try again.

How to pair the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard in Bluetooth mode

1. Hold the Bluetooth 1 or Bluetooth 2 device key for 3 seconds to pair the SM3 keyboard wirelessly to a compatible Bluetooth host device.
2. The backlight will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off after a successful connection.

How to connect the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard with the 2.4 GHz USB receiver

1. Take the included 2.4 GHz USB receiver, magnetized to the back of the SM3 keyboard, and connect it to a USB-A port on your host device or a compatible adapter.
2. Press and hold the 2.4 GHz USB receiver key for 3 seconds to enable the receiver.
3. The backlight will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off after a successful connection.

How to use the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard in wired mode

1. Hold the Wired Mode key for 3 seconds to enable wired mode.
2. The key backlight will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off after a successful connection.

Note: When in wired mode, the SM3 keyboard will charge while connected if the port supports power delivery.

How to select the operating system on the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard

• macOS: upon pairing, press and hold Fn + O for 3 seconds. The backlight will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off after a successful connection.
• Windows: upon pairing, press and hold Fn + P for 3 seconds. The backlight will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off after a successful connection.

How to charge the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard

To charge the SM3 keyboard, connect the included USB-C to USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the keyboard.

• Charging indicator: the charging LED illuminates blue while the keyboard is charging.
• Fully charged: once the keyboard is fully charged, the charging LED turns off.
• Low power mode: when the keyboard reaches low power mode, the space bar key will slowly flash white to indicate low power, and the backlight feature will be disabled to conserve battery.

Backlight patterns on the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard

The SM3 keyboard has 14 total backlight patterns.

• To turn the backlight on or off, hold the Backlight Pattern Key for 5 seconds.
• To switch between patterns, press the Backlight Pattern Key once.
• Increase or decrease backlight brightness with the Increase Backlight Brightness and Decrease Backlight Brightness hot keys.
• Increase the backlight speed with Fn + right arrow (>).
• Decrease the backlight speed with Fn + left arrow (<).

How to use Fn lock on the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard

• When Fn lock is activated, the Esc key will flash every second, indicating the feature is enabled.
• To disable Fn lock, press and hold Fn + Esc for 1-2 seconds or until the Esc key stops flashing.

How to reset the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard

1. To reset the SM3 keyboard and forget all devices, press and hold Fn + Del + End for 3 seconds.
2. The pairing key will flash continuously until the keyboard is paired again to a host device.

Sleep modes on the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard

Bluetooth 1 and 2

• After 1 minute of inactivity, the backlight turns off to conserve battery.
• After 30 minutes of inactivity, the keyboard enters sleep mode until a key is pressed.

2.4 GHz USB receiver

• After 1 minute of inactivity, the backlight turns off to conserve battery.
• After 10 minutes of inactivity, the keyboard enters sleep mode until a key is pressed.

Wired mode

• In wired mode, the keyboard does not enter sleep mode, and the backlight remains on unless turned off manually.

Important notes for the SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard

• Upon pairing, please select the correct operating system: press and hold Fn + O for macOS, iPadOS, and iOS; press and hold Fn + P for Windows. Failure to do so may result in your keyboard functioning improperly.
• When wirelessly pairing with some Windows operating systems, you may need to pair via Control Panel and not Bluetooth Settings.
• Mechanical switches are soldered to the PCB and are not hot-swappable. Please do not attempt to remove switches from the keyboard.
• Keyboard keycaps are removable and replaceable. It is recommended to use a keycap puller when removing keys to ensure no damage will be done to the switch.
