What's In The Box
OntheGo™ USB-C Lanyard Cable, Connector Cards, User Manual.
Product Overview
The OntheGo™ USB-C Lanyard Cable is a crossbody strap with a USB-C cable built into it, so your phone hangs hands free and your charging cable is already on you. A connector card slots between your phone and its case to take the weight, and when you need to charge or sync, the same strap does the job at up to 60W. One less cable to pack and nothing to dig for in a bag.
Setup
Attaching the lanyard to your phone
- Remove your phone from its case: Take the phone out so you can fit the connector card.
- Insert the tab inside the phone case: Make sure the metal loop sticks out through the charging port opening, with the Satechi logo facing the case.
- Place your phone back into the case: Secure the tab in place between the phone and the case.
- Attach the carabiner to the metal loop: Clip the lanyard onto the loop sticking out through the charging port.
- Adjust the lanyard for a comfortable fit: Slide the straps to set your preferred wear length.
Using the cable to charge or transfer data
1. Remove the Protective Caps from both USB-C connectors, then slide each connector housing upward until the plug is fully exposed.
2. Connect one end to your phone's USB-C port.
3. Connect the other end to a USB-C power adapter, laptop, or power bank. You can charge at up to 60W while still wearing the lanyard.
4. When you are finished, slide the housings back down and replace the caps.
Functions
Parts labeled diagram of the OntheGo™ USB-C Lanyard Cable with 5 labeled components.
1. Premium Braided Cable (1.5 meter): The 1.5 m (59.05 in) braided USB-C cable that forms the lanyard. Supports up to 60W power delivery and 480 Mbps data transfer. Braided nylon resists fraying under daily wear.
2. Adjustable Straps: The neck strap sections. Slide the cable ends to shorten or lengthen it for crossbody or around-the-neck wear.
3. USB-C Connectors (60W) (480Mbps): The USB-C connectors at both ends. Connect one to your phone and the other to a USB-C power adapter or peripheral. Up to 60W charging and 480 Mbps data. Video output is not supported.
4. Protective Caps: Cover and protect the USB-C connectors while the cable is worn as a lanyard. Remove them before charging or transferring data.
5. Connector Cards: Flat card-shaped tabs that sit between your phone and its case to create a secure attachment point. Two are included, one black and one clear, so you can match your case.

Important Limitations
Video output is not supported: This cable handles charging up to 60W and data transfer up to 480 Mbps only. It does not output video to an external display.
Your phone needs a USB-C port: It works with iPhone 15 and later, and with USB-C Android phones, tablets, and laptops. Earlier iPhones with a Lightning port need a Lightning to USB-C adapter to charge, though the lanyard itself still holds the phone through the Connector Card.
A full-coverage, closed-bottom phone case is required: The Connector Card must be secured between your phone and its case for the lanyard to hold the phone safely. Half-coverage cases that leave the bottom edge open will not work, and very thick or rigid cases may not accommodate the tab.
Data transfer runs at USB 2.0 speed: 480 Mbps is enough for photos, documents, and small folders. For full backups or large video libraries, use a USB4 or Thunderbolt cable instead.
Both ends must support Power Delivery for the full 60W: Without PD support on the device and the charger, the cable still charges, just at a slower standard USB-C rate.
Slide the connector housing, do not push it in: The connector travels vertically along its track. Slide the housing up to expose the port and back down when you are finished. Forcing it in at an angle can break the internal hinge or the connector base.
Install the Connector Card before trusting the lanyard with your phone's weight: Do not use the cable if it or the connectors are damaged, keep it away from liquids and moisture, and do not force the connectors into ports.
