If you use FileVault on your Mac, note that the Slim X3 Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard cannot enter your password at the startup login screen, because Bluetooth is not active that early in startup. Once you log in and the Bluetooth connection is re-established, the keyboard works as normal.

To avoid the login issue, you can temporarily turn off FileVault, or use a wired Apple keyboard just for the startup login.
