If your solid state drive (SSD) is new and does not appear, it may need to be formatted for your device.

How to format on a Mac

1. Open Finder, then go to Applications, then Utilities, then Disk Utility.
2. Select the SSD.
3. Click Erase.
4. Choose the file system format you want.
5. Click Erase to reformat.
