The Stand & Hub For Mac Studio M5 With NVMe SSD Enclosure (ST-GMMSHS) supports two types of M.2 solid state drives. The drive is not included.

• M.2 NVMe (PCIe) SSDs: sizes M.2 2242, 2260, and 2280, with transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps.
• M.2 SATA SSDs: sizes M.2 2242, 2260, and 2280, with transfer speeds up to 6 Gbps.

The enclosure has been tested with drives up to 4TB. It is plug and play and needs no drivers or software. SSDs with heat sinks are not compatible, so use a bare M.2 drive.

After installing a new SSD, format it in Disk Utility before use: APFS for macOS, or ExFAT for cross-platform use.
