If the Ethernet connection is not working, try resetting the network interface:
- Disconnect the hub from your computer.
- Open your Network settings (System Settings > Network).
- Remove "USB 10/100/1000 LAN" by selecting it and clicking the minus (-) button.
- Plug the hub back into your computer.
- Add "USB 10/100/1000 LAN" back by clicking the plus (+) button.
- Open the Advanced settings for that connection and click "Renew DHCP Lease," then click OK.
Check the connection. "USB 10/100/1000 LAN" should now show as connected.
If it still will not connect, restart your Mac: shut down completely, wait 30 seconds, then power back on. If the problem continues, reset the hardware controller:
- Intel Macs (SMC reset): shut down, then hold left Shift, Control, Option, and the power button together for 10 seconds. Release all keys, then power on.
- Apple silicon Macs (M1 and later): shut down, wait 30 seconds, then press and hold the power button until you see "Loading startup options." Release, select your startup disk, and click Continue.
Reconnect the hub after the reset.
