NVMe speed ratings are based on a direct internal connection. In an external enclosure over USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), lower speeds are expected due to interface limits. For best performance, make sure the SSD is formatted (APFS or exFAT), connect both dock cables to adjacent USB-C ports that support 10 Gbps or higher, keep your system updated, and avoid other USB-C devices during testing. Testing another SSD, reformatting, or using another compatible computer can also help.
