If your Slim X2 Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard (ST-BTSX2M) will not connect, the cause is usually the power switch, a low battery, or a pairing that did not finish. Work through the steps below to get it paired.
Steps to fix a Slim X2 Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard that won't connect
- Turn the keyboard on. Move the power switch on the top of the keyboard to the On position. The power light turns green for about 3 seconds and then turns off.
- Charge it if the light keeps flashing. A flashing power light means the battery is low, which causes connection trouble. Charge the keyboard with the included USB-C cable using a powered USB-C port or wall adapter, not a low-output computer USB port. Charging takes about 2 to 3 hours, and the light is red while charging and green when fully charged.
- Put the keyboard into pairing mode. Press and hold one of the Bluetooth keys (1, 2, 3, or 4) for about 3 seconds until the LED blinks.
- Connect from your device. In your device's Bluetooth settings, select "Slim X2 Keyboard" to finish pairing. To add more devices, repeat with a different number key. The keyboard connects to up to four devices, and you switch between them by pressing keys 1 to 4.
- Wake it if it seems unresponsive. After 30 minutes of inactivity the keyboard goes to sleep to save battery. Press any key to wake it, and it reconnects automatically.
- Reset and re-pair if it still will not connect. Turn the keyboard off and back on, then press and hold Fn + Right Shift + Delete until the green LED in the top-right corner flashes. The reset is then complete, and you will need to pair the keyboard to your devices again.
