If your OntheGo Bluetooth Keyboard (models ST-KOTGK and ST-KOTGW) will not connect, the cause is usually a low battery, pairing mode, or the wrong channel. Work through the steps below to get it paired.
Steps to fix an OntheGo Bluetooth Keyboard that won't connect
- Charge it first. A drained battery stops the keyboard from connecting, and it shuts down on its own when the battery reaches 0%. Charge it with the included USB-C to USB-C cable; a full charge takes about 2.5 hours. The power light is red while charging and blue when fully charged.
- Turn the keyboard on. Press and hold the power button on the top right for 5 seconds until the LED above it blinks blue.
- Put the keyboard into pairing mode. Hold the FN key and one of the Bluetooth keys (Q, W, or E) for 3 to 5 seconds until the LED flashes blue.
- Connect from your device. Turn on Bluetooth on your device, then select "OntheGo Keyboard" from the list and connect. The pairing light turns off once it is connected. Pairing times out after 180 seconds, so if nothing connects the keyboard goes to sleep; wake it and try again.
- Check the channel. The keyboard pairs with up to 3 devices. Press FN plus Q, W, or E to switch to the right channel (Q for device 1, W for device 2, E for device 3).
- Wake it if it seems unresponsive. After 30 minutes of inactivity the keyboard sleeps to save battery. Press any key to wake it, and it reconnects automatically.
- Re-pair if it still will not connect. In your Bluetooth settings, forget or remove "OntheGo Keyboard," then repeat the pairing steps above.
