If your Satechi Slim LX3 Wired Keyboard (ST-KULX3C-EN Space Gray and ST-KULX3S-EN Silver) is not being detected, the connection or the port is usually the cause rather than the keyboard itself. The Slim LX3 Wired Keyboard is plug and play, so there is no pairing, no driver to install, and no battery to charge. It powers on as soon as it is connected, and the power LED turns green for about three seconds and then turns off. Work through the steps below in order.

Steps to try

1. Unplug the Slim LX3 Wired Keyboard and plug the USB-C connector back in, pushing it in until it is fully seated. The cable is built into the keyboard and cannot be removed, so the connector at the far end is the only connection point to check.
2. Try a different USB-C port on your computer. Some ports may be inactive or already in use by another accessory.
3. If you are connecting to a USB-A port, use the USB-C to USB-A adapter that comes in the box. The Slim LX3 Wired Keyboard needs either a USB-C port or a USB-A port with that adapter.
4. Watch the power LED as you connect the keyboard. A green light for about three seconds means the keyboard is receiving power from the port.
5. Restart your computer while the Slim LX3 Wired Keyboard stays connected, then check whether it responds.
6. Check whether your computer lists the keyboard. On a Mac, open System Settings and look under Keyboard. On Windows, open Device Manager and look under Keyboards.
7. Install any pending operating system updates, then reconnect the Slim LX3 Wired Keyboard.
8. If the keyboard types but certain keys or shortcuts do the wrong thing, check the MAC / WIN switch on the top edge and set it to match your computer. In MAC mode the Mac modifier keys are active, and in WIN mode the Windows modifier keys are active.
9. Connect the Slim LX3 Wired Keyboard to a different computer or another device with a USB-C port. If it is detected there, the original port or computer is the problem. If it is not detected on any device, the keyboard itself is at fault.
