If the USB ports on your Aluminum USB 3.0 Headphone Stand (ST-UCHSHM) are not working, the most likely reason is what the stand is plugged into. The built-in USB hub on the Aluminum USB 3.0 Headphone Stand only works when the stand is connected to a computer, and each of its ports supplies up to 1A.
How to fix USB port problems on the Aluminum USB 3.0 Headphone Stand
- Connect the stand to your computer with the included USB cable. The USB hub needs to be connected to a computer to function.
- Do not plug the stand into a wall outlet or a wall charger. The stand will not work that way and it can damage the product.
- Reseat both ends of the USB cable, at the stand and at the computer.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.
- Move your accessory to a different USB port on the front of the stand.
- Plug the accessory straight into your computer to confirm the accessory itself works.
- Check whether the stand appears in System Information under USB on a Mac, or in Device Manager on Windows.
- Keep the power draw low. Each port supplies up to 1A, so the stand can charge low power devices such as headphones, but newer iPhones and iPads that need more than 1A will not charge from it.
- Restart your computer, then reconnect the stand and test again.
- For audio, plug your headset into the 3.5mm port on the side of the stand, then select the stand as your output device in your computer's sound settings.
- Check the assembly if the stand feels loose. Push the stand hook into the slot in the base until it clicks, and use the cable organizer on the back to keep the USB cable from pulling on the connector.
