This User Manual covers setup, features, compatibility, and specifications for the Satechi 4 Port USB-C Hub (ST-UC4PHM).
Functions
1. USB-C Connector
2. LED Indicator
3. USB-C Data Port (5Gbps)
4. USB-C Data Port (5Gbps)
5. USB-C Data Port (5Gbps)
6. USB-C Data Port (5Gbps)
Product Overview
The 4 Port USB-C Hub turns one USB-C port on your laptop, tablet or desktop into four USB-C data ports, so you can keep several USB-C drives and peripherals plugged in at once and move files at up to 5 Gbps. It is a data hub only: the four ports do not charge devices and do not carry video.
Setup
The 4 Port USB-C Hub is plug-and-play, no drivers or software required.
- Connect to a laptop or tablet: Plug the hub's USB-C connector into the USB-C port on your laptop, tablet or desktop computer.
- Connect your devices: Connect up to four USB-C devices to the hub for data transfer or backups, at up to 5 Gbps.
Note: Eject connected USB-C storage devices before you unplug the hub, so transfers finish cleanly.
Ports and Features
Parts labeled diagram of the 4 Port USB-C Hub with 6 labeled components.
1. USB-C Connector: The attached USB-C cable that plugs into your laptop, tablet or desktop computer. It is the hub's only connection, so all four ports share this single link back to the host.
2. LED Indicator: The status LED on the top face of the hub, above the Satechi wordmark.
3. USB-C Data Port (5Gbps): One of the four USB-C data ports, on the left edge in the diagram above. Data transfer at up to 5 Gbps, with no charging and no video output.
4. USB-C Data Port (5Gbps): The second USB-C data port on the left edge. Data only, at up to 5 Gbps.
5. USB-C Data Port (5Gbps): One of the two USB-C data ports on the right edge in the diagram above. Data only, at up to 5 Gbps.
6. USB-C Data Port (5Gbps): The second USB-C data port on the right edge. Data only, at up to 5 Gbps.
Features
- Four USB-C data ports from a single USB-C connection
- Up to 5 Gbps on each port
- Attached USB-C cable, nothing else to plug in
- Status LED on the top face
Important Limitations
USB-C Data Ports will not support charging or video output. All four are data-only ports, so a display or a charger connected to them will not work.
Connected peripherals should not exceed power requirements above 5V/0.7A. That works out to 3.5W per device. Anything hungrier, such as a bus-powered spinning hard drive, needs its own power supply.
