This User Manual covers setup, features, compatibility, and specifications for the Satechi Stand & Hub For Mac Mini / Studio With NVMe SSD Enclosure (ST-GMMSHS).

Product Overview

The Stand & Hub for Mac Mini / Studio with NVMe SSD Enclosure is a stand for your Mac Mini or Mac Studio with a USB-C connector. It adds a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port (10 Gbps), a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port (10 Gbps), two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports (5 Gbps), SD and Micro SD card slots (UHS-I), an audio jack (input/output), and an M.2 SSD enclosure compatible with M.2 NVMe and SATA SSD drives.

Setup

The Stand & Hub is plug and play.

1. Connect to your Mac Mini / Mac Studio: Connect the Stand & Hub to your Mac Mini or Mac Studio.

2. Connect your devices: Connect your devices to the stand's ports.

Note: Upon initial installation, make sure your SSD is properly formatted to your host device OS.

Installing the SSD

1. Insert the M.2 SSD into the enclosure at a 30° angle, with the side marked THIS SIDE UP facing up.
2. Secure the SSD with the screw, as shown in the diagram.

Compatible SSD sizes: 2242 / 2260 / 2280 mm. Compatible with M.2 NVMe and SATA SSD drives.

3. Audio Jack (Input/Output): When connecting headphones, adjust the sound output under System Settings > Sound > Output > USB PnP Audio Device.
4. 2X USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 Ports (5 Gbps): For device syncing, data transfer, and USB peripherals. Not designed for charging.
5. USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 Port (10 Gbps): For device syncing, data transfer, and USB peripherals. Not designed for charging.
6. USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 Port (10 Gbps): For device syncing, data transfer, and USB peripherals. Not designed for charging.

Important Limitations

The USB ports are not designed for charging. They are only for device syncing, data transfer, and USB peripherals.

Format your SSD. Upon initial installation, make sure your SSD is properly formatted to your host device OS.

iPad syncs only via USB-A. iPad will only sync via USB-A due to its power wattage requirement for syncing.

Headphone audio output. When connecting headphones to the audio port, adjust the sound output under System Settings > Sound > Output > USB PnP Audio Device.

Use 5GHz Wi-Fi. For the best network experience when using the Stand & Hub, connect to a 5GHz frequency when using Wi-Fi.
