AirPods charge on the USB-C Wireless Charging Dock for AirPods only when the AirPods are in a wireless charging case. AirPods (2nd generation) were sold with either the original case or the AirPods Wireless Charging Case, so check which case you have.

• Wireless charging case: the LED indicator is on the outside (front) of the case.
• Not a wireless charging case: the LED indicator is inside the case when you open the lid. This case must be charged with a Lightning cable and will not charge on the dock.

If your case supports wireless charging:

1. Plug the USB-C Wireless Charging Dock for AirPods into a powered USB-C port.
2. Place the AirPods case on the charging dock.
3. Do not place any metal objects on the dock.
