The virtual keyboard button on the Satechi R1 Bluetooth Presentation Remote only works with iOS devices and is not supported on macOS, so the button cannot be used with a MacBook Pro.

The remote connects with the same Bluetooth profile as a wireless keyboard. iPhone and iPad normally hide the on-screen keyboard while a Bluetooth keyboard is paired, and the virtual keyboard button lets you show the on-screen keyboard again.

On a Mac, you can still use the remote's next and previous slide, black screen, and laser pointer buttons to control your presentation.
