Compatibility
What devices is this keypad compatible with?
The Slim Rechargeable Bluetooth Keypad works with Mac, iPad, iPhone, and most Bluetooth-enabled devices. It was designed primarily for the Apple ecosystem. Windows 10/11 devices are supported, but pairing must be done through Control Panel > Devices and Printers (not Bluetooth Settings). Android devices with Bluetooth are also compatible.
Does it work with iPad and iPhone?
Yes. Pair it through Settings > Bluetooth on your iPad or iPhone.
Will it work with Windows and Surface devices?
It is compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11. Surface compatibility varies by model. Because Satechi keyboards and keypads are classified as "input devices," they must be paired through Control Panel on Windows, not through the standard Bluetooth settings. See our Windows pairing guide for step-by-step instructions.
Key Functions
Does the Clear key work the same as on a Mac keyboard?
Yes. The Clear key on the Satechi keypad functions the same as the Clear key on Apple's numeric keypad. It deletes selected fields in macOS and clears entries in apps like Calculator and Excel.
Can I use keyboard shortcuts like Command+3?
The keypad does not support multi-key modifier shortcuts (like Command+3 or Control+C). It is designed for numeric input, not as a replacement for a full keyboard's shortcut capabilities. If you need shortcut support, use it alongside your main keyboard.
Does the Enter key function as Enter or Return?
The key functions as Enter (numeric keypad Enter), which behaves the same as Return in most macOS and iOS applications.
Specifications
What are the dimensions?
Length: 7.5 inches, Width: 5.3 inches, Height: 1.4 inches. Weight: approximately 3.5 oz.
What Bluetooth version does it use?
Bluetooth 3.0. It is backward compatible with devices that support Bluetooth 3.0 and above, including devices with Bluetooth 4.0, 5.0, and 5.3.
How long does the battery last?
Approximately 2 weeks on a full charge with regular daily use. Charging takes 1 to 2 hours via the included Micro USB cable. A low battery indicator light will alert you when it is time to recharge.
Troubleshooting
My number keys are typing the wrong characters or moving the cursor instead of typing numbers.
This usually means Mouse Keys is enabled on your Mac. Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control and disable "Mouse Keys." On older macOS versions, check System Settings > Accessibility > Mouse & Trackpad.
The keypad is not pairing or keeps disconnecting.
1. Make sure the keypad is charged (plug it in for at least 30 minutes).
2. Turn the keypad off and back on using the power switch.
3. On your device, forget the keypad from Bluetooth settings, then re-pair it.
4. Restart your device and try pairing again.
