Setup Instructions
- Connect Cables: Connect the dual cable connectors to the dual USB-C ports on your host device. Both cables must be connected in order for full functionality.
- MacBook vs. Other Devices: If using with a host device other than a MacBook, slide the aluminum cable cover down to release the cables. Both cables must be connected in order for full functionality.
- Power On: Slide the power switch to the left from red to green to turn on the Dock. A white LED will turn on signifying the dock is on. Note: The Dual Dock Stand is bus-powered — it draws power directly through the Thunderbolt connection from your Mac. No separate power adapter is required or included for the dock's operation. To charge your Mac through the dock, plug a USB-C PD charger into the dock's USB-C PD port (96W or higher recommended for MacBook Pro).
Ports and Connectors
- USB-C PD Port: Use the USB-C PD port to charge your device up to 75W. Approximately 15W is used for the dock's operation. The USB-C charging port does not support video output or data transfer.
- HDMI Ports: Use HDMI cables to connect up to two HDMI-enabled monitors (up to 4K/60Hz). Dual display is not supported on M1/M2 MacBooks.
- DisplayPort: Use a DisplayPort cable to connect to a DisplayPort-enabled monitor (up to 4K/60Hz). Dual monitors are supported when using the HDMI port to the left of the USB-C data port.
- Ethernet: Connect an RJ45 Ethernet cable to the dock's Gigabit Ethernet port for speeds up to 1 Gbps.
- USB Data Ports: Use the USB-C and USB-A ports for data transfer. Some ports support up to 5 Gbps, others up to 10 Gbps. These do not support charging or CD readers (including Apple SuperDrive).
- Note: The dock supports a maximum of two display outputs. Prior to connecting or disconnecting power, make sure all external drives are properly ejected.
Installing the SSD
- Safety First: Before installing, ensure the Dual Dock Stand is not connected to power. Eject all external drives, disconnect from the host device, and disconnect any power delivery cables.
- Open Enclosure: To install the SSD, press and lift the latch on the SSD cover.
- Thermal Pad: Remove the film from both sides of the included thermal pad and align the holes on the thermal pad with the screw openings.
- Insert SSD: Insert the SSD (not included) at an angle and face-up with the pins aligned. Push down to align the SSD with the screw hole.
- Secure SSD: Use the included screw and screwdriver to secure the SSD into place. Do not over-tighten. Not compatible with SSDs with pre-installed heat-sinks.
- Close Enclosure: Reinstall the SSD cover by inserting it at an angle and pressing down until it clicks.
- Placement: Turn the dock over and place your host device on top of the Dock Stand.
- Final Connection: Connect the dual cable connectors to the dual USB-C ports on your host device. Both cables must be connected for full functionality.
- Power Connection: To charge your Mac through the dock, connect a USB-C PD charger (96W or higher recommended for MacBook Pro) to the dock's USB-C PD port. Prior to connecting the charger, make sure all external drives are disconnected from the dock.
- Final Power On: Slide the power switch to the left (red to green) to turn on the dock. A white LED will signify it is on.
Formatting Note: If using with a new SSD, ensure the drive is properly formatted to support your host device operating system.
