This Quick Start Guide covers setup of the Satechi Dual Dock Stand - Docking Station with NVMe SSD Enclosure (ST-DDSM): connecting the dual cables and powering on, using the ports and displays, and installing an NVMe SSD in the enclosure.
Setup steps:
Step 1: Connect the dual cable connectors to the dual USB-C ports on your host device.
Both cables must be connected in order for full functionality
Step 2: If using with a host device other than a MacBook, slide the aluminum cable cover down to release the cables.

Step 3: Slide the power switch to the left from red to green in order to turn on the Dock.
White LED will turn on signifying the dock is on
Ports and Connectors:
Step 4: Use the USB-C PD port to charge your device up to 75W.
~15W is used for the docks operation USB-C charging port does not support video output or data transfer
Step 5: Use HDMI cables to connect up to two HDMI-enabled monitors.
Dual Display not supported on M1/M2 MacBooks
Step 6: Use DisplayPort cable to connect to a DisplayPort-enabled monitor.
DisplayPort connection supports up to 4K/60Hz. Dual monitors supported when using HDMI port to the left of USB-C data port
Step 7: Connect an RJ45 Ethernet cable to the dock’s Gigabit Ethernet port.
Up to 1 Gbps
Step 8: Use the USB-C port and USB-A port for data transfer – up to 5 Gbps each.
Does not support charging or CD readers, including Apple SuperDrive
Step 9: Use the USB-C port and USB-A port for data transfer – up to 10 Gbps each.
Does not support charging or CD readers, including Apple SuperDrive
Note: Prior to connecting or disconnecting power to the dock please make sure all external drives are properly ejected. Dock supports only two display output maximum.
Installing SSD:
Step 1: Before installing, ensure the Dual Dock Stand is not connected to power.
Prior to disconnecting power please eject all external drives connected to the Dock. Disconnect from host device and disconnect any power delivery cables connected to the Dock
Step 2: To install the SSD, press and lift the latch on the SSD cover.
Step 3: Remove the film from both sides of the included thermal pad and align the holes on the thermal pad with the screw openings.
Step 4: Insert the SSD (not included) at an angle and faceup with the pins aligned and push down to align the SSD with the screw hole.
Step 5: Use the included screw and screwdriver to secure the SSD into place.
To avoid stripping the screw, please do not over tighten.
Step 6: Reinstall the SSD cover. Insert at an angle and press down until it clicks.
Step 7: Turn the dock over and place your host device on top of the Dock Stand.
Step 8: Connect the dual cable connectors to the dual USB-C ports on your host device.
Both cables must be connected in order for full functionality
Step 9: Connect Dual Dock Stand to the power source.
Prior to connecting power please make sure all external drives are disconnected from the Dock.
Step 10: Slide the power switch to the left from red to green in order to turn on the Dock.
White LED will turn on signifying the dock is on
Note: Not compatible with SSDs with preinstalled heat-sinks. If using with a new Solid-State Drive, please ensure the drive is properly formatted to support your host device operating system.
