What is the power consumption of the USB-C Multiport Adapter with Ethernet V3?
The adapter bus-powered and consumes 15W of power.
A bus-powered hub draws all its power from the host computer's port interface. It does not need a separate power connection, however, many devices require more power than this method can provide and may not work in this type of hub.
*We advise using 1 external drive at a time for optimum performance.
Average Read & Write Speeds - Benchmark Testing (BlackMagic Disk Speed Test / macOS)
Below are the average write and read speeds for the following ports:

Please note: Transfer speeds are dependent on what storage device(s) are connected - read & write speeds may vary.

Can I still connect my USB-A flash drives, external hard drives, USB-A mice and keyboard on this adapter?
Although we recommend a direct connection, USB-A devices will be supported,

Can I connect a Monitor on one of the USB-C ports?
The USB-C ports of the 8K Multiport Adapter w/ Ethernet V3 do not support video output.
You can connect an external monitor on the HDMI port instead using an HDMI-to-HDMI cable.
Can I charge my phone or tablet to the PD Charging port?
No, the PD passthrough port is a dedicated charging port for your Host device.
Does this product support monitors with higher refresh rates?
Yes, it supports 4K/120Hz Video Output.
What devices are supported through the USB-C ports of this adapter?
Here are some examples of supported USB-C devices you can use on the 8K Multiport Multiport Adapter with Ethernet:
External Hard Drives (we recommend using 1 bus-powered device at a time)

Smartphones (for data transfer)
Please note: Most USB-C audio interfaces and/or printers will not be supported due to high wattage requirements - we recommend directly connecting these peripherals to the host device.
What can i do if i experience Ethernet or HDMI issues when connected to my MacBook Pro M2 Max?
To remedy any port issues with your Satechi Adapter and your host computer, we recommend restarting or shutting down your host device.
*Please ensure that the Satechi Adapter is disconnected from the host device and all devices are unplugged.
Please note: a direct HDMI to HDMI connection is required as most conversion cables or additional adapters will not be supported (VGA, DVI, DP, etc.)
For M1/M2 iMacs, Mac Minis, or MacBooks
These Macs do not have an hardware controller, but there is a way to do a reset similar to the Shut down your Mac completely. Wait 30 seconds, then press the power button to turn it back on. (On Intel Macs, you can also try an hardware controller reset: shut down, hold Shift+Control+Option+Power for 10 seconds, then release and power on.):
- Shut down your Mac.
- Once the computer is completely shut down, close the lid of the MacBook.
- Wait 30 seconds, then open the lid and press the power button to turn on your Mac.
If you are experiencing issues with ethernet, we recommend restarting your modem/router and ensuring that the ethernet cable is "clicked" into place.
Once this is complete, please go into your System Settings and ensure that Wifi is toggled off.

Is this compatible with Windows Devices or Chromebooks?
Yes, this adapter will be compatible with most Windows Devices and/or Chromebooks.
To check compatibility, please check to see if your device is equipped with a USB-C port that supports one of the following protocols:
USB 3.1 Gen 1/2, USB-C 3.2 Gen 1/2, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, Thunderbolt 3, USB4, Thunderbolt 4

Will i be able to "daisy-chain" another adapter through any of the USB-C ports on this adapter?
Unfortunately Daisy-Chaining and connecting another adapter through the USB-C ports are not supported.
The USB-C ports are for data transfer via flash drives and/or external hard drives or connecting peripherals like a keyboard/mouse/webcam/microphone.
Is this compatible with the iPad Pro?
Yes, we can confirm that our 8K Multiport Adapter with Ethernet is compatible with the iPad Pro.
Please note: When connecting to an iPad, and using any storage devices for data transfer, you will need to open the native "Files" application on your iPad to access external drives, SD, or microSD cards.
Feel free to use the steps below for reference:
1. Connect the Adapter to your iPad and insert your USB-C drive, SD Card, etc.
2. On your iPad, open the Files app. If you don't see the blue Files app icon on your Home Screen simply swipe down, then search for the "Files"
3. Now you will be access your files
Is this compatible with the Lenovo Legion Pro 5?
Yes, we can confirm that our 8K Multiport Adapter with Ethernet V3 is compatible with the Lenovo Legion Pro 5.
Please note: Having that this device comes with its own proprietary power adapter, we recommend using this - optionally you can use the USB-C PD port on the adapter for passthrough charging which will support charging up to 100W when connected to a charger like our 200W GaN Charger.
Is this adapter compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro Max?
While this adapter is compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, we recommend using 1 drive at a time for optimum performance. (flash drives or external hard drives)
What are the overall dimensions of the 8K Multiport Adapter with Ethernet V3?
The dimensions of the adapter are as follows:
- Length: 114.44mm
- Width: 54.12mm

- Weight: 120.6 grams
The cable length is 6.63 inches (168.28mm).
Would an ordinary HDMI cable support 4k@120hz?
We recommend getting a HDMI 2.1 cable to support 4K resolutions up to 120 HZ and for 8K, it supports up to 60Hz.
Does this support the Samsung T7 Shield external hard drive?
Yes, we can confirm that our 8K Multiport with Ethernet V3 will support this drive through any of the 3 USB-C data ports (10G)
Please note: We recommend using 1 bus-powered drive for optimum performance.
Does the 8K Multiport Adapter w/ Ethernet V3 works with my Apple Studio Display?
Unfortunately, the 8K Multiport Adapter w/ Ethernet V3 will not support the Apple Studio Display as it does not support video output over the USB-C Ports.
The adapter will only support monitors with HDMI inputs.
How many USB-C Ports are there?
The 8K Multiport Adapter with Ethernet is equipped with 3x USB-C data ports that support up to 10Gbps transfer speeds, 1x USB-C data port that supports up to 5Gbps transfer speeds, and 1x USB-C Power Delivery port that supports up to 100W.
For Apple Silicon Macs (M1/M2/M3/M4): Shut down your Mac completely. Wait 30 seconds, then press and hold the power button until you see "Loading startup options." Release the button, select your startup disk, and click Continue. This process resets the hardware controller on Apple Silicon Macs.
