How to set up the Satechi USB-C Multiport Adapter 8K With Ethernet V3

The USB-C Multiport Adapter 8K With Ethernet V3 is plug and play.

1. Connect the adapter's USB-C (Universal Serial Bus Type-C) Cable to a compatible USB-C port on your laptop.

   

2. Use the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Video Port to output video to an external monitor or display: up to 8K at 30Hz or 4K at 120Hz on Windows operating system (OS), and 4K at 60Hz on macOS. Computer, cable, and monitor must support 8K. 8K video output is not supported on Mac devices.

   

3. Use the USB-C Power Delivery (PD) Port to charge your device up to 85W. Video and data transfer are not supported on the USB-C PD Port.

   

4. Connect your devices to the USB-C Data Ports: the 3 USB-C Data Ports (A, B, C) transfer data at up to 10 Gbps and the USB-C Data Port (D) at up to 5 Gbps. The USB-C Data Ports do not support video output, charging, or compact disc (CD) readers, including the Apple SuperDrive.

   

5. Connect an Ethernet cable to the adapter's Gigabit Ethernet Port (up to 1 Gbps).

   

6. Insert a Secure Digital (SD) card into the SD Card Slot. The SD card reader supports up to Ultra High Speed II (UHS-II, short for Ultra High Speed II) read/write speeds (up to 312 MB/s).

• USB-C Power Delivery (PD) Port (up to 85W): for charging. The USB-C charging port will not support data transfer or video output.

• USB-C charging port will not support data transfer or video output.
• Direct HDMI-to-HDMI cable required for video output connection.
• 8K video output currently not supported on macOS.
• Host device, external monitor and HDMI cable must support HDMI 2.1 technology in order to achieve 8K video output via HDMI.
