Is the 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multiport Adapter compatible with devices other than MacBook or iPad Pro?
Yes, the adapter is compatible with various USB-C devices, including Windows laptops, Chromebooks, and other USB-C tablets. Ensure that your device's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode for HDMI functionality and Power Delivery for charging capabilities.
What is the maximum resolution and refresh rate supported by the HDMI port?
The HDMI port on the 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multiport Adapter supports a maximum resolution of 4K at 60Hz, providing clear and smooth video output to compatible displays.
Is the 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multiport Adapter compatible with USB-C smartphones and tablets?
Yes, the adapter is compatible with USB-C smartphones and tablets that support OTG (On-The-Go) functionality. This allows you to connect peripherals like USB drives, keyboards, and mice to your mobile device. Please note that the HDMI port may not function with all smartphones or tablets, as this depends on the device's capabilities.
Can I use the USB-C PD port to charge my laptop while simultaneously using other ports on the 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multiport Adapter?
Yes, the USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port supports up to 100W input, allowing you to charge your laptop while simultaneously using other ports such as HDMI, USB-A, and the SD card reader.
Can I use my HDMI to DisplayPort cable with this adapter?
We do not recommend using video converter cables as this can cause a decrease in video quality and connection issues in general.
Are the 10gbps USB-A ports now able to support 2 external drives at the same time?
Keep in mind that most devices (hard drives) may require more power than this adapter can provide. We still recommend using 1 drive at a time for optimum performance.
Can I use the USB-C port to connect to other devices?
The USB-C PD port on the 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multiport Adapter is a Power Delivery Port meaning it can only be used to connect a charger to help provide power to the connected host device.
What charging wattage can I expect when I connect a 100W charger to the adapter?
When a 100W Charger is connected to the adapter, there would be a 15W diminishment due to providing the adapter with power for operation when connected to your host device. Charging rates may also vary depending on what charger you are using.
For instance: the maximum passthrough charge a GaN Charger could provide is up to 75W while an Apple Charger could provide up to 69W.
Can the HDMI port support a higher refresh rate than 60Hz at lower resolutions?
The adapter can support 720p/ 120Hz on supported external displays and devices, but higher resolutions would reduce the refresh rate to 60Hz.
I see the connector to the adapter has been changed. Can I now plug in the adapter without removing my case?
Yes! We have updated the connector to a rounded shape, allowing our users to freely use the adapter without risk of damaging their host device.
Can I use the USB-C port for an external monitor?
Unfortunately, the USB-C PD port was not intended for video output, and will only deliver power up to 100W, specifically 75W to the host device.
What’s the difference in speeds?
Our previous model delivered speeds of 5 Gbps via the USB-A 3.0 ports, while the newer model will deliver speeds of 10 Gbps and the ports have been updated to USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports.
USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports are backward compatible, so any device that requires versions 3.0, 3.1, or 3.2 will fit into old USB 2.0 ports.
Will I be able to back up the photos from my phone onto an SD card using the adapter?
Yes, the Slim Aluminum Type-C Multi-Port Adapter V2 was tested and confirmed compatible with the latest iPhone and can transfer your data from your iPhone to a Micro/SD or thumb drive, and vice versa.
To locate the SD card or external drives, please locate the “Files” folder on your phone.
