What kind of DAC is used on the Mobile XR Hub?
The XR Hub with the Audio Jack uses the SSS1700B1 chip.
Will the Mobile XR Hub with Audio work with a Steam Deck, ROG ally and Nintendo Switch?
Yes, they are all compatible. However, the ROG Ally might not display video correctly , connect the power source to the hub and host device, and then test the video output on a separate monitor.
Can it charge by using the center port, or is it necessary to use the charging specific port?
No, the port on the right is dedicated to charging. The middle port is dedicated to 10 Gbps data transfer and 4K 60 Hz video output.
Can I connect wired headphones or a microphone to the Mobile XR Hub?
Absolutely. The Mobile XR Hub has a 3.5mm audio jack that supports 2.1 channel audio, microphone input, and both CTIA and OMTP standards, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of wired headphones and microphones. It also offers a built-in volume control function for added convenience.
Is the Mobile XR Hub with Audio compatible with iPhone 14 and older models?
No, the Mobile XR Hub with Audio is not compatible with iPhone 14 and earlier models. The XR Hub connects via a USB-C port, but iPhones up to the 14th generation are equipped with a Lightning port, not USB-C. Without a USB-C port on these models, the XR Hub cannot be connected directly.
Can all 3 ports be used simultaneously?
Yes, but we recommend connecting one bus-powered device at a time for optimal performance.
Can I connect a printer to either of the available USB-C ports?
No, most printers require more power than the hub can supply, it may not operate correctly or could experience performance issues.
Does it support USB-C Headsets?
Yes, it does!
Will it support Hi-Res Lossless sampling frequency when streaming from Apple Music, Tidal, and Qobuz?
Yes. The Mobile XR Hub with Audio will support a maximum sampling rate of 24bit, 96KHz. Lossless tracks that are higher than 24bit, 96KHz will still play but will be downsampled.
Does the 3.5mm audio port also have a Microphone input?
Yes. The Mobile XR Hub with Audio will work with microphones built into headsets. It supports CTIA & OMTP standard with volume key control functions.
Will this work with an iPad that has a USB-C port?
While it is mainly designed for iPhones, it is generally compatible with devices that support standard Type-C interface.
Why can't I hear Audio on my Headphones when connected to the 3.5mm Audio Port of this Hub?
You will need to go to Control Center by swiping down from the right part of your iPhone or iPad Screen.
Then plug your 3.5mm headphones (or speakers) into the 3.5mm port of the hub or adapter and select "USB PnP Audio Device or General USB Audio Device". Please use the following images for reference: It should show up on the red box below.
The Aux port will support most 3.5mm Headphones, speakers or microphones.
