How to set up the Satechi Type-C Multi-Port Adapter 4K with Ethernet V2

The Type-C Multi-Port Adapter 4K with Ethernet V2 is plug and play.

1. Connect the adapter's USB-C (Universal Serial Bus Type-C) Connector to the USB-C port of your laptop. Compatible with 2016/2017 MacBook and 2016/2017 MacBook Pro.

   

2. Connect your native MacBook charger to the adapter's USB-C Power Delivery (PD) 3.1 Port (pass-through port) to charge your MacBook.

   

3. Connect an external monitor to the adapter's High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Video Port with an HDMI cable. The HDMI Video Port requires a direct HDMI to HDMI connection. Not recommended with Video Graphics Array (VGA) or Digital Visual Interface (DVI) monitors.

   

4. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet Port.

   

5. Connect a Universal Serial Bus (USB) hard disk drive (HDD), solid-state drive (SSD), thumb drive, or any USB device to the USB-A (Universal Serial Bus Type-A) ports.

   

6. Charge phones through the adapter's USB-A ports using native charging cables.

   

7. Insert either a microSD or Secure Digital (SD) card into the appropriate slot of the adapter.

• Ethernet Port (1 Gigabit)
• USB-C Power Delivery (PD) 3.1 Port (Up to 140W max.): for charging. The USB-C charging port will not support data transfer or video output.

Important notes for the Type-C Multi-Port Adapter 4K with Ethernet V2

• USB-C charging port will not support data transfer or video output.
• Direct HDMI-to-HDMI cable required for video output connection.
• USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable or USB-C cable supporting Extended Power Range (EPR) technology required to reach wattage at 140W with supporting devices.
• Not compatible with Apple USB SuperDrive or other compact disc (CD) readers due to excessive power requirements.
• Operating temperature is 86-122°F.
