What's In The Box
Type-C Multi-Port Adapter 4K with Ethernet V2, User Manual.
Product Overview
This adapter turns one USB-C port on your laptop into seven connections: 4K video at 60Hz over HDMI, a 10Gbps USB-A port plus two 5Gbps USB-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet, an SD and microSD card reader, and a USB-C PD 3.1 port that keeps your machine charging while everything else stays plugged in. It is plug and play with no drivers, and the attached USB-C cable is short enough to sit next to your laptop rather than hang off the desk.
Setup
The adapter is plug and play: no drivers or software required.
- Connect to a laptop: Plug the adapter's USB-C connector into the USB-C port on your laptop.
- Connect your devices: Connect your displays, drives, network cable, and cards to the adapter's ports.
Note: To keep your laptop charging while the adapter is in use, plug your laptop's USB-C charger into the adapter's USB-C PD 3.1 port.
Functions
Parts labeled diagram of the Type-C Multi-Port Adapter 4K with Ethernet V2 with 7 labeled components.
1. USB-C Connector: The attached USB-C cable that plugs into your laptop. This is the host connection and carries everything the adapter does; it is not a charging input.
2. SD & microSD Card Reader (UHS-I): Combined SD and microSD slots at UHS-I speeds, for camera cards and other flash media.
3. HDMI Video Port (4K@60Hz): Video output up to 4K at 60Hz to a monitor or TV. A direct HDMI-to-HDMI cable is required; adapters and converters on this port will not produce a picture.
4. USB-A Gen 2 Port (10Gbps): The fastest USB-A port on the adapter, up to 10Gbps, best used for external SSDs and drives.
5. 2× USB-A Gen 1 Ports (5Gbps): Two USB-A ports at up to 5Gbps for keyboards, mice, flash drives, and other accessories.
6. Ethernet Port (1 Gigabit): Wired network connection at 10/100/1000Mbps.
7. USB-C PD 3.1 Port (Up to 140W max.): Power input only, for pass-through charging of your laptop. It does not carry data or video. Reaching 140W requires a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable or a USB-C cable supporting EPR technology, with a supporting device; pass-through charging to the host is rated up to 115W.
Features
- 4K at 60Hz video output over HDMI.
- Seven connections from a single USB-C port, all usable at the same time.
- USB-A at 10Gbps plus two USB-A ports at 5Gbps.
- Gigabit Ethernet at 10/100/1000Mbps.
- SD and microSD card reader at UHS-I speeds.
- USB-C PD 3.1 pass-through charging so your laptop stays powered.
Important Limitations
Charging port is power only: The USB-C charging port will not support data transfer or video output.
Direct HDMI cable required: A direct HDMI-to-HDMI cable is required for the video output connection.
140W needs an EPR or MagSafe 3 cable: A USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable, or a USB-C cable supporting EPR technology, is required to reach wattage at 140W with supporting devices. Pass-through charging delivered to the host is rated up to 115W.
Not compatible with Apple USB SuperDrive: Not compatible with Apple USB SuperDrive or other CD readers due to excessive power requirements.
