This Quick Start Guide covers setup of the Satechi USB-C to HDMI 2.1 8K Adapter (ST-AC8KHM): adds an HDMI 2.1 port for video output up to 8K from a USB-C or Thunderbolt device.

Setup steps

Step 1: Plug one connector of an HDMI cable (not included) into a HDMI-equipped external display, monitor or television.

HDMI 2.1 cable recommended for optimal functionality

Step 2: Connect second connector of an HDMI cable to the Adapter.

The Adapter is backwards compatible with HDMI 1.4 and up

Step 3: Compatible with Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB4, and USB-C 3.2 Gen2 host devices 8K video resolution not supported on macOS, iPadOS, or iOS On 8K TVs, settings may need to be adjusted to achieve 8K video resolution. Please check your television user manual for guidance on how to enable 8K resolution.

Step 4: Adapter provides stable connection in resolutions up to 7680 x 4320 (8K) @ 60Hz.
