Product Overview
The USB-C to HDMI 2.1 8K Adapter adds a full-size HDMI 2.1 output to a USB-C or Thunderbolt device, so you can drive a monitor or TV at up to 8K at 60Hz, or at 4K up to 144Hz for high refresh rate gaming. It is plug and play and needs no power of its own.
Setup
The USB-C to HDMI 2.1 8K Adapter is plug and play, no drivers or software required. An HDMI cable is not included.
- Connect USB-C cable to your device: Plug the adapter's USB-C connector into a USB-C or Thunderbolt port on your laptop, tablet or phone.
- Plug your HDMI cable into the adapter's port: Connect an HDMI cable between the adapter's HDMI 2.1 port and your display, monitor or television. An HDMI 2.1 cable is recommended for full 8K output.
- Switch the input to HDMI and start streaming: Select the matching HDMI input on your display.

1. USB-C Connector: Plugs into the USB-C or Thunderbolt port on your host device. The port must support DP Alt Mode, otherwise no video is sent.
2. Durable Braided Cable: The short braided cable that joins the USB-C connector to the adapter body. The braided sleeve is there for durability where the cable flexes.
3. HDMI 2.1 Port: Full-size HDMI 2.1 output, up to 8K at 60Hz. 8K output is not supported on macOS. An HDMI cable is not included and an HDMI 2.1 cable is recommended for 8K.

Important Limitations
8K video output currently not supported on macOS. iPadOS and iOS do not support 8K output either.
Host device must support DP Alt Mode over USB-C. Without DP Alt Mode on the USB-C port the adapter cannot send video. Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB4 and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 host ports are supported.
Some monitors will require settings to be adjusted when attempting to output 8K resolution. On 8K TVs you may need to switch 8K on in the display's own settings. Check your television user manual for how to enable it.
An HDMI cable is not included. An HDMI 2.1 cable is recommended for optimal functionality. The adapter is backwards compatible with HDMI 1.4 and up.
