Can the charger distribute power to all four ports simultaneously?
Yes, the 165W USB-C 4-Port PD GaN Charger can charge up to four devices simultaneously. The total 165W output is intelligently shared across devices depending on their individual power needs.
Can I use the charger with EU power outlets?
Yes. If you didn’t purchase the EU version, you can simply replace the removable C5 power cable with one that’s compatible with EU outlets. The charger supports 100-240V input, making it safe to use with EU power standards.
How does the charger manage heat during extended use?
The Satechi GaN Charger uses advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, which is more efficient than traditional silicon-based chargers. This means it generates less heat while operating. It also features built-in thermal protection to keep the charger safe and cool, even during extended use.
Can the charger be used with USB‑C hubs or docking stations?
Yes, the charger works seamlessly with USB-C hubs and docking stations. It can power your main device while also supporting connected peripherals.
Port Output Schematic
Port Schematics:
1 device connected, up to 100W
2 devices connected, up to 100W / 60W
3 devices connected, 60W / 60W / 45W or 100W / 30W / 30W
4 devices connected, 60W / 45W / 30W / 30W
Total maximum output: 165W
Why did my device stop charging?
The charger automatically detects connected devices and adjusts power distribution. If a device stops charging, try this: unplug all devices and the charger, then reconnect them one by one, starting with your highest-power device on PD 1.
Example power allocations:
• 1 device → up to 100W
• 2 devices → 100W + 60W
• 3 devices → 60W + 60W + 45W or 100W + 30W + 30W
• 4 devices → 60W + 45W + 30W + 30W (up to 165W total)
What is the length of the US plug cable?
The included US plug cable is approximately 46 inches long.
Can I charge my MacBook Pro (16‑inch, 2021) M1 Max?
The charger cannot deliver the full 140W required by the 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021/2023, M1 Max/M2 Max). Each USB-C port provides up to 100W. While you can still charge your MacBook Pro, charging speeds will be slower compared to the original 140W adapter.
Can this charge my Microsoft Surface Pro X?
Yes! Just make sure you plug it into the “USB 3.1 Gen 2” port rather than the standard USB-C port on your Surface. We also recommend using the original charging cables, which you can check here.
Does this product come with charging cables?
No, charging cables are not included and must be purchased separately. For best results, we recommend using certified cables, such as our 100W USB-C to USB-C charging cable.
Will this product come in additional colors?
Not at this time. Currently, the charger is only available in Space Gray.
