This Quick Start Guide covers getting started with the Satechi Type-C Multimedia Adapter (ST-TCMM8PAS ST-TCMM8PAM).

How to set up the Satechi Type-C Multimedia Adapter

The Type-C Multimedia Adapter is plug and play.

1. Connect the adapter's USB-C (Universal Serial Bus Type-C) Cable to the USB-C port on your laptop. USB-C laptops must support both DisplayPort over USB-C (Alternate Mode, or Alt mode) and USB-C Power Delivery (PD) (2.0 or higher).

   

2. Connect your laptop power adapter to the USB-C PD Port (up to 85W).

   

3. Use an HDMI cable to connect an external monitor to the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Video Port. Resolution up to 4K at 30Hz. Display will be mirrored on the HDMI monitor.

   

4. Connect an external monitor to the Mini Displayport Port with a DisplayPort (DP) cable. Resolution up to 4K at 30Hz. Display will be mirrored on the Mini DisplayPort monitor.

   

5. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet Port. The Ethernet Port supports 10/100/1000Mbps.

   

6. Connect Universal Serial Bus (USB) peripherals to the USB-A (Universal Serial Bus Type-A) 3.0 Data Ports. Use 1 hard drive at a time. The USB-A Data Ports do not charge iPad.

   

7. Insert a Micro SD or Secure Digital (SD) card into the card reader slots. Data speeds up to 104 Mb/s.

• USB-C charging port will not support data transfer or video output.
• Direct HDMI-to-HDMI cable required for video output connection.
• Direct MiniDP-to-DisplayPort cable required for video output connection.
• HDMI & Mini DisplayPort (MiniDP) will support max 4K@30Hz resolution in Single-Stream Transport (SST) mirror mode when used simultaneously.
• Operating temperature is 86-122°F.
