This Quick Start Guide covers getting started with the Satechi Slim EX3 Wireless Keyboard (ST-KEX3C ST-KEX3S): turning it on, selecting your operating system, pairing over Bluetooth, and connecting the 2.4GHz USB-C (Universal Serial Bus Type-C) receiver dongle.

How to set up the Satechi Slim EX3 Wireless Keyboard

1. Before use, fully charge the Slim EX3 Keyboard using the included USB-C cable. The keyboard can be used while charging.
2. To turn the keyboard on or off, move the ON / OFF Switch on the top of the device to the "on" position. The green power indicator light will turn on for about 3 seconds.

   

3. Set the MAC / WIN Switch to your operating system. The key function is based on the operating system (OS) selected via the MAC/WIN switch.

   

4. Press and hold one of the three Bluetooth Keys (1–3) or the 2.4GHz receiver key for 3 seconds to assign a device. The white light-emitting diode (LED) will blink to indicate pairing mode. Once paired, indicator light will go solid for 1 sec and then turn off.

   

5. Enable Bluetooth on your host device, look for "EX3 Keyboard" in the Bluetooth Setting, and choose "Connect" to pair. The white LED will stop blinking, indicating a successful pairing. Repeat process to add up to 3 Bluetooth devices.

   

6. To connect a fourth device with the 2.4GHz receiver, remove the included 2.4GHz USB-C receiver dongle from the back of your keyboard.
7. Connect the dongle to the USB-C port on your device.

   

8. Press the key with the USB-dongle icon to switch to the 2.4GHz connection and connect to the fourth device. If the Keyboard does not connect automatically to the 2.4GHz receiver, it may be necessary to put the keyboard in pairing mode. First, remove the 2.4GHz receiver from the device. Hold down the 2.4GHz dongle icon on the keyboard to start the pairing process. Insert the 2.4GHz receiver into the device. The keyboard will then find the 2.4GHz dongle and connect.

   

How to switch devices on the Slim EX3 Wireless Keyboard

To switch between Bluetooth 1, Bluetooth 2, Bluetooth 3, and the 2.4GHz receiver, press the dedicated pairing key to switch devices.

Slim EX3 Wireless Keyboard ports and controls

• ON / OFF Switch: on the top of the device.
• MAC / WIN Switch: MAC Modifier Keys work in MAC mode, WIN Modifier Keys work in WIN mode.
• Bluetooth Device Keys with LED Indicator: 1, 2 and 3.
• 2.4GHz Receiver Key with LED: the key with the USB-dongle icon.
• Media / Functions Keys: for buttons F1 - F13 press Fn + Esc to enable the function.
• USB-C Charging Port
• 2.4GHz Receiver USB-C: stored on the back of the keyboard.

How to charge the Slim EX3 Wireless Keyboard

• When the battery is low, the power indicator will flash red. Connect the keyboard to a computer or USB-C wall adapter using the included USB-C charging cable.

  

• Charge the keyboard for 2 to 3 hours, or until the red charging LED light turns green. The keyboard can be used while charging.
• The keyboard is designed to accept a low wattage so any wall charger 5W or greater is acceptable.

Slim EX3 Wireless Keyboard LED indicator meanings

• ON/OFF: turns green for 3 seconds and turns off.
• Pairing mode: the white LED blinks.
• Low Battery: flashes red when it's low battery.
• Charging: turns red when it's charging.
• Fully Charged: turns green and stays green.
• Caps Lock: White LED turns on when Caps Lock is enabled.

Important notes for the Slim EX3 Wireless Keyboard

• After 60 minutes of non-operation, the keyboard will go to sleep mode. Please press any key to wake up, and the keyboard will reconnect automatically.

  

• Turn off the keyboard using the power switch when not in use.
• If you are connecting to the 2.4GHz receiver, ensure it is securely connected to the host device before you start the pairing process.
