This Quick Start Guide covers setup of the Satechi Slim EX1 Wireless Keyboard (ST-KEX1C ST-KEX1S): connects to up to three devices over Bluetooth plus a fourth via the included 2.4GHz USB-C dongle, and recharges over USB-C.

Setup steps

Step 1: Before use, fully charge the Slim EX1 Keyboard using the included USB-C cable. The keyboard can be used while charging.

Step 2: Turn on the keyboard using the power switch on the top edge.

Step 3: Select the operating system using the dedicated OS switch.

Step 4: To enter Bluetooth pairing mode, press and hold the FN key together with one of the Bluetooth keys (Q, W, or E) for 3-5 seconds. The keyboard has two FN keys at the bottom left: on Mac, use the far-left key with the globe icon; on Windows, use the key next to it labeled fn. The white LED will blink to indicate pairing mode.

Step 5: Enable Bluetooth on your device and select “EX1 Keyboard” from the list to complete the connection. Up to three devices can be connected via Bluetooth.

Step 6: To connect a fourth device, insert the USB-C 2.4GHz dongle into your device.

Step 7: Press and hold the FN key together with the R key marked with the USB dongle icon to activate the fourth connection. On Mac, use the far-left FN key with the globe icon; on Windows, use the key next to it labeled fn.

Step 8: After 30 minutes of inactivity, the keyboard will enter sleep mode. Press any key to wake it—the keyboard will reconnect automatically. Turn off the keyboard using the power switch when not in use.
