This User Manual covers all features, setup, and shortcut key functions for the Satechi Slim EX1 Wireless Keyboard (ST-KEX1C-EN Space Gray / ST-KEX1S-EN Silver), a wireless keyboard with Bluetooth multi-device pairing and 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver connectivity, compatible with Mac and Windows.

Functions

1. Media / Functions Keys — Top row keys for media controls and system shortcuts.
2. 2.4 GHz Receiver Key with LED — Key for the 2.4 GHz receiver channel (same key as the letter R).
3. Bluetooth Device Keys with LED Indicator — Keys Q, W, E for Bluetooth channels 1, 2, and 3.
4. Caps Lock LED Indicator — Lights up when Caps Lock is active.
5. WIN Modifier Keys — Active when the keyboard is switched to WIN mode.
6. MAC Modifier Keys — Active when the keyboard is switched to MAC mode.
7. MAC / WIN Switch — Selects the operating system mode.
8. ON / OFF Switch — Powers the keyboard on or off.
9. Power / Charging LED — Indicates power and charging status.
10. USB-C Charging Port — Connect the included USB-C cable here to charge the keyboard.
11. 2.4 GHz Receiver USB-C — Storage/connection port for the included 2.4 GHz receiver.
12. Battery Cover with Screw — Access panel for the internal battery.

Setup

Powering On / Off

To turn the keyboard on or off, move the switch on the top of the device to the "on" position. The green power indicator light will turn on for about 3 seconds.

Pairing Your Devices (Bluetooth)

The Slim EX1 supports pairing with up to 3 Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

1. Press and hold the Fn Key and one of the three Bluetooth Keys (Q, W, or E) or the 2.4 GHz receiver key (R) for 3 seconds to assign a device to it. White LED Light should start blinking.
2. On the host device, look for "EX1 Keyboard" in the Bluetooth Setting, choose "Connect" to pair. The white LED will stop blinking, indicating a successful pairing. Repeat process to add up to 3 Bluetooth devices. If you are connecting to the 2.4 GHz receiver, ensure it is securely connected to the host device before you start the pairing process.

Note: After 60 minutes of non-operation, the keyboard will go to sleep mode. Please press any key to wake up. To switch between Bluetooth 1, Bluetooth 2, Bluetooth 3, and the 2.4 GHz dongle, press Fn + Q, W, E, or R.

2.4 GHz USB-C Dongle Connection

1. Remove the included 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver dongle from the back of your keyboard.
2. Connect it to the USB-C port on your device.
3. The EX1 keyboard should now be connected to the 2.4 GHz receiver.

Note: If the keyboard does not connect automatically to the 2.4 GHz receiver, it may be necessary to put the keyboard in pairing mode. First, remove the 2.4 GHz receiver from the device. Hold down the Fn key while pressing the 2.4 GHz dongle icon on the keyboard (same key as the letter R) to start the pairing process. Insert the 2.4 GHz receiver into the device. This will allow the keyboard to find the 2.4 GHz dongle and connect.

Charging Your Keyboard

1. When the battery is low, the power indicator will flash red. Connect the keyboard to a computer or USB-C wall adapter using the included USB-C charging cable.
2. Charge the keyboard for 2 to 3 hours, or until the red charging LED light turns green.

Note: The keyboard is designed to accept a low wattage, so any wall charger 5W or greater is acceptable.

LED Indicators

On/Off — turns green for 3 seconds and turns off.
Low Battery — flashes red when it's low battery.
Charging — turns red when it's charging.
Fully Charged — turns green and stays green.
Caps Lock — white LED turns on when Caps Lock is enabled.

Hot Key Function Guide

Note: The key function is based on the OS selected via the MAC/WIN switch. For buttons F1–F12, press Fn + Esc to enable the function.
