What's In The Box
USB-C To HDMI 2.1 8K Cable, User Manual.
Product Overview
This cable turns your device's USB-C port into a direct HDMI 2.1 output: plug the USB-C end into a laptop, tablet, or phone and the HDMI end into a monitor or TV, and you get video up to 8K/60Hz or 4K/144Hz with Dynamic HDR10+ and HDCP 2.3 content protection. It is plug and play with no drivers, backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 displays, and the 2 m braided cable reaches from a desk to a wall-mounted TV.
Setup
The cable is plug and play: no drivers, apps, or settings required.
- Connect USB-C cable to your device: Plug the USB-C end into the USB-C or Thunderbolt port on your laptop, tablet, or phone.
- Connect HDMI cable to an external monitor or TV: Plug the HDMI end into the display's HDMI port.
- Switch the input to HDMI and start streaming: Select the matching HDMI input on your monitor or TV.
Functions
Parts labeled diagram of the USB-C To HDMI 2.1 8K Cable with 3 labeled components.
1. USB-C Connector: Plugs into the host device. The host's USB-C port must support DP Alt Mode (on Windows devices: USB 3.1 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, Thunderbolt 3, USB4, or Thunderbolt 4 ports). This end is the input only: the cable is one-directional and cannot carry video from an HDMI source to a USB-C display.
2. Durable Braided Cable (2 Meters): The 2 m braided cable with reinforced necks and aluminum connector housings, long enough to reach a TV without an extender.
3. HDMI 2.1 Connector (up to 8K/60Hz): Plugs into the monitor or TV. Delivers up to 8K/60Hz on HDMI 2.1 displays and is backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 displays at up to 4K/60Hz.
Features
- Video output up to 8K/60Hz, 4K up to 144Hz, or 1080p up to 500Hz.
- Dynamic HDR10+ with HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.3 support.
- Plug and play: no drivers, apps, or settings.
- Backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 displays (up to 4K/60Hz).
- 2 m durable braided cable with aluminum connector housings.
Important Limitations
No 8K on macOS: 8K video output is currently not supported on macOS. Mac computers support up to 4K/60Hz with this cable.
DP Alt Mode required: The host device must support DP Alt Mode over USB-C. USB-C ports that are charge-only or data-only will not output video.
8K may need monitor settings: Some monitors will require settings to be adjusted when attempting to output 8K resolution.
One direction only: The cable sends video from a USB-C host to an HDMI display only. It cannot connect an HDMI source to a USB-C monitor.
