This User Manual covers setup, pairing, charging, and safety information for the Satechi Slim EX Wireless Mouse | ST-MEXC ST-MEXS. The Slim EX Wireless Mouse is a rechargeable wireless mouse that connects to Mac, PC, and iPad over Bluetooth or a 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver, and uses quiet click switches with a precision scroll wheel.

Slim EX Wireless Mouse Parts and Functions

The Slim EX Wireless Mouse has the following parts:
- USB-C Charging Port (1): Located at the top front edge of the mouse. Used to charge the mouse with the included USB-C cable.
- Left Click Button (2): Standard left-click, located on the top-left of the mouse.
- Right Click Button (3): Standard right-click, located on the top-right of the mouse.
- Scroll Wheel (4): Center scroll wheel between the left and right click buttons.
- LED Indicator (5): Shows charging and battery status. See "LED Indicators" below.
- ON/OFF Switch (6): Located inside the battery compartment. Slide up to power the mouse on, slide down to power it off.
- Pairing LED Indicator (7): Located inside the battery compartment, next to the pairing button. Flashes white during pairing mode.
- Pairing Button (8): Located inside the battery compartment. Press and hold to enter pairing mode.
- Battery Compartment (9): Houses the mouse's removable battery.
- USB-C 2.4 GHz Receiver (10): A small USB-C dongle stored inside the battery compartment. Plug this into your computer's USB-C port to connect over the 2.4 GHz wireless connection instead of Bluetooth.
- Access Door (11): The sliding cover on the underside of the mouse that opens to reach the battery compartment.
Turning the Slim EX Wireless Mouse On and Off

- Slide the ON/OFF switch up to turn the Slim EX Wireless Mouse on. A green indicator will be visible next to the switch.
- Slide the ON/OFF switch down to turn the Slim EX Wireless Mouse off. A red indicator will be visible next to the switch.
Charging the Slim EX Wireless Mouse

Connect the included USB-C charging cable to the USB-C charging port on the Slim EX Wireless Mouse, then connect the other end to a USB-C power source. A full charge takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. The Slim EX Wireless Mouse cannot be used in wired mode — the USB-C port is for charging only, and the mouse will continue to function wirelessly while it charges.
LED Indicators on the Slim EX Wireless Mouse
The Slim EX Wireless Mouse uses two separate LED indicators — the LED Indicator (part 5) for charging and battery status, and the Pairing LED Indicator (part 7) for pairing mode.
- Blue LED on the LED Indicator: The Slim EX Wireless Mouse is currently charging.
- Green LED on the LED Indicator: The Slim EX Wireless Mouse is fully charged.
- Red LED on the LED Indicator: The Slim EX Wireless Mouse's battery is low and needs to be charged.
- White flashing LED on the Pairing LED Indicator: The Slim EX Wireless Mouse is in pairing mode and ready to connect to a device.
Battery percentage is not displayed on macOS for the Slim EX Wireless Mouse. This is expected behavior, not a defect — use the LED Indicator described above to check battery level.
Pairing the Slim EX Wireless Mouse with macOS via Bluetooth
- On your Mac, open Settings, then go to Bluetooth & Devices, then Add Device, then Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Turn on the Slim EX Wireless Mouse using the ON/OFF switch. Satechi recommends fully charging the mouse before pairing it for the first time.
- Press and hold the pairing button on the Slim EX Wireless Mouse for 3 to 5 seconds, until the white Pairing LED Indicator begins to flash.
- On your Mac, select "EX Mouse" from the list of available Bluetooth devices.
- The Slim EX Wireless Mouse will show a connected status once pairing is successful.
- Repeat these steps to pair the Slim EX Wireless Mouse with up to 2 Bluetooth devices total.
Pairing the Slim EX Wireless Mouse with Windows 10 or Windows 11 via Bluetooth
- On your Windows PC, open Settings, then go to Bluetooth & Devices, then Add Device, then Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Turn on the Slim EX Wireless Mouse using the ON/OFF switch. Satechi recommends fully charging the mouse before pairing it for the first time.
- Press and hold the pairing button on the Slim EX Wireless Mouse for 3 to 5 seconds, until the white Pairing LED Indicator begins to flash.
- On your Windows PC, select "EX Mouse" from the list of available devices, then click "Next."
- A progress bar will appear during pairing and will disappear automatically once pairing is complete.
Connecting the Slim EX Wireless Mouse with the 2.4 GHz USB-C Receiver
- Remove the 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver from inside the Slim EX Wireless Mouse's battery compartment.
- Plug the 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver into a USB-C port on your computer. The Slim EX Wireless Mouse should connect to the receiver automatically.
Manually Reconnecting the Slim EX Wireless Mouse to the 2.4 GHz USB-C Receiver
If the Slim EX Wireless Mouse does not connect automatically to the 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver, use these steps to put the mouse in pairing mode manually:
- Remove the 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver from your computer.
- Hold down the right click button and the scroll wheel on the Slim EX Wireless Mouse while turning the mouse on with the ON/OFF switch.
- Insert the 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver back into your computer. The Slim EX Wireless Mouse will search for the receiver and connect to it.
Multi-Device Use
The Slim EX Wireless Mouse supports multi-device sync with Satechi EX series keyboards through the included 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver, so both accessories can share the same receiver on one computer.
Safety Information
- The Slim EX Wireless Mouse cannot be used in wired mode. The USB-C port is for charging only. The mouse will function normally while charging.
- Battery percentage is not shown on macOS for the Slim EX Wireless Mouse. Use the LED Indicator to check battery level instead.
- Keep the Slim EX Wireless Mouse away from water, liquids, and excessive moisture.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the Slim EX Wireless Mouse.
