This User Manual covers connectivity, supported resolutions, data transfer, and troubleshooting for the Satechi Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable (ST-YTB5100K). The Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable is Intel-certified and supports up to 120Gbps data transfer, 240W Power Delivery, and multi-display output up to 8K @ 60Hz.
What's in the Box

Setup
- Connect the Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable to a Thunderbolt 5 or USB4 port on your Mac or PC.
- Connect the other end to a compatible Thunderbolt 5, USB4, or USB-C display, dock, or device.
- The operating system detects the connection automatically — no drivers required.
For extended (non-mirrored) dual display output on macOS: go to System Settings > Displays > Arrangement and disable "Mirror Displays."
Supported Display Configurations
- Single display — Up to 8K @ 60Hz or 4K @ 144Hz
- Dual display — Up to dual 8K @ 60Hz (host must support Thunderbolt 5 dual display output)
- Triple display — Up to triple 4K @ 144Hz via compatible Thunderbolt 5 dock
- 1080p gaming — Up to 1080p @ 540Hz
Actual display capability depends on both the host Thunderbolt 5 port and the display's specifications.
Data Transfer
The Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable supports Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth up to 120Gbps (Bandwidth Boost mode), enabling ultra-fast data transfer between compatible Thunderbolt 5 devices. When connected to USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 hosts, bandwidth is capped at 40Gbps per those standards.
Power Delivery
The Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable supports USB-C Power Delivery up to 240W, enabling simultaneous display, data, and laptop charging through a single cable.
Troubleshooting
- Display not detected — Confirm the host port is Thunderbolt 5 or USB4. Non-TB5 ports will limit functionality. Try a different port or restart with the cable connected.
- Dual displays not working — Dual display output requires a Thunderbolt 5 host. Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 hosts support only one external display natively. Check macOS Displays > Arrangement and disable Mirror Displays.
- Transfer speed lower than 120Gbps — 120Gbps requires both the host and target to support Thunderbolt 5 Bandwidth Boost. Thunderbolt 4 caps at 40Gbps.
