The solid state drive (SSD) format you choose for the Satechi USB4 NVMe SSD Pro Enclosure depends on which computers you use.

• Use exFAT to work across both PC and Mac. exFAT is readable and writable on both.
• NTFS (New Technology File System) works only on PCs and is not compatible with macOS.

Most new SSDs need to be formatted before they appear. On a Mac, use Disk Utility. On Windows, use Disk Management or File Explorer.
