If the Satechi USB4 NVMe SSD Pro Enclosure is not detected on your Mac, the solid state drive (SSD) most likely needs to be formatted. Most new SSDs must be formatted before the computer can use them.

How to format on a Mac

1. Open Disk Utility.
2. Select the SSD from the list.
3. Click Erase.
4. Name the drive and choose a format (exFAT works across Mac and PC).
5. Click Erase to finish.
