The Satechi USB4 NVMe SSD Pro Enclosure reaches its top speed on a USB4 or Thunderbolt 3, 4, or 5 port, and it is also downward compatible with older connections.

You can connect it to a USB-C or USB-A port. It works with USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps), USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps), USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps), USB 3.0 (5Gbps), and USB 2.0 (480Mbps). A USB-C to USB-A adapter is not included and is sold separately.

On an older port, overall speed and functionality will be limited compared with a USB4 or Thunderbolt connection.
