Set your system keyboard input to U.S. English.

macOS: Go to System Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources, click the "+" button, select English (U.S.), and set it as your primary input source.

Windows: Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region, add or select English (United States), and choose the U.S. keyboard layout.
