If your Qi2 Trio Wireless Charging Pad (ST-QTPM-EA) is not charging your phone, the cause is usually the power source, the phone itself, or how the phone sits on the magnetic disc. Work through the steps below to get charging started.
Steps to fix a Qi2 Trio Wireless Charging Pad that is not charging your phone
- Power the pad with its own parts. Connect the included USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the rear of the pad and to the included 45W power adapter, then plug it into a wall outlet. A power source of at least 36W is required. The front LED lights up when the pad has power. If the LED stays off, reseat the cable or try another outlet.
- Use a Qi2 or MagSafe phone. The magnetic charging disc charges phones that support Qi2 or MagSafe on their own. Other phones need a supported magnetic attachment or a MagSafe case, which is not included.
- Line the phone up on the disc. Let the magnets pull the phone onto the Qi2 disc so it sits centered over the charging area. Charging begins automatically once the phone is aligned.
- Remove thick or metal cases. Take off any case thicker than 3 mm and any case with a metal plate or metal ring, because these block wireless charging.
- Try a different wall outlet or power source to rule out the outlet.
- Test a different Qi2 or MagSafe device on the same disc. If the second device charges, the problem is with the first phone rather than the Qi2 Trio Wireless Charging Pad.
