If your 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand (ST-Q21FM) is not charging your phone, the cause is usually the power adapter, the phone or its case, or how the phone sits on the magnetic charger. Work through the steps below to get charging started.
Steps to fix a 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand that is not charging
- Power the stand properly. Connect the included USB-C to USB-C cable to the rear USB-C port on the stand and to a USB-C power adapter (the adapter is not included). Use at least 15W to charge one device, or up to 45W to charge two at once. A 30W adapter is recommended for best results. The front LED lights up when the stand has power.
- Avoid weak power sources. A laptop USB-C port often provides only about 15W or no power at all, so use a dedicated wall adapter rather than a laptop port.
- Use a MagSafe or Qi2 iPhone. The magnetic charger works with iPhones that support MagSafe or Qi2 (iPhone 12 through 15, including the Pro models) at up to 15W. Other phones need a supported magnetic attachment or a MagSafe case, which is not included.
- Line the phone up on the charger. Let the magnets pull the phone onto the Qi2 charging area so it sits centered. Charging begins automatically once the phone is aligned.
- Check your case. Use a MagSafe or Qi2 compatible case, and remove cases thicker than 2.5 mm or cases without magnetic alignment, since they reduce charging.
- Try a different adapter or outlet. If the LED does not light or charging still will not start, try another USB-C adapter and a different wall outlet.
