Product Overview
This hub plugs straight into the USB-C port on an iPad Pro or USB-C tablet and adds four connections in one small aluminum body: 4K HDMI video output at 60Hz, a USB 3.0 port for keyboards and thumb drives, USB-C Power Delivery charging up to 60W, and a 3.5mm audio jack for wired headphones or a headset. All of the ports can be used at the same time.
Setup
The Aluminum Type-C Mobile Pro Hub Adapter is plug-and-play, no drivers or software required.
- Connect to your tablet: Plug the hub's USB-C connector into the USB-C port on your iPad Pro or USB-C tablet. Remove the case first if your tablet has one.
- Connect your devices: Connect your devices to the hub's ports.
Ports and Features
Parts labeled diagram of the Aluminum Type-C Mobile Pro Hub Adapter with 6 labeled components.
1. USB-C Connector: The USB-C plug that connects the hub to your iPad Pro or USB-C tablet. A tablet case can stop it from seating fully, so remove the case first.
2. Audio Jack Port: 3.5mm audio jack for wired headphones or a headset. It supports microphone input and works with a headphone splitter.
3. HDMI Video Port (4K@60Hz): HDMI output supporting up to 4K at 60Hz. It needs a direct HDMI to HDMI cable, so converters such as DVI to HDMI are not supported.
4. LED Indicator: Status light that indicates the hub is connected.
5. USB 3.0 Port: USB-A 3.0 port for keyboards and thumb drives at up to 5 Gbps. On an iPad it can only import photos and videos from a camera's DCIM folder through the Photos app, and it does not work with the Apple SuperDrive.
6. USB-C Charging Port (up to 60W): USB-C Power Delivery port for pass-through charging at up to 60W, which covers fast charging for the iPad Pro. Use the USB-C cable and power adapter that came with your device.

Important Limitations
We recommend customers use genuine cables when they are trying to sync. Use the original cable that came with your device when you sync.
The hub may not be compatible with some tablet cases. Remove the case so the hub can make a proper connection to the USB-C port.
A direct HDMI to HDMI cable is required for video output. Conversion cables and adapters, such as DVI to HDMI, are not recommended because they interfere with how the display is detected.
The USB 3.0 port does not work with the Apple SuperDrive. CD and DVD drives are not supported.
File transfer on an iPad is limited to importing photos and videos. You can import images from a camera's DCIM folder using the native Photos app, but files cannot be exported from the iPad to an external device.
Bus-powered drives that need more than 5V/0.7A (3.5W) may not be detected. Low-draw bus-powered drives can work. Anything above that needs its own power source.
