Product Overview

The Mobile Pro Hub SD plugs straight into the USB-C port on an iPad or other USB-C tablet and adds 4K HDMI video at 60Hz, USB-C Power Delivery charging for the tablet, a USB-A 3.0 data port, SD and Micro SD card slots, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A USB-C extension cable is included so the hub still fits when your tablet is in a case.

Setup

The Mobile Pro Hub SD is plug-and-play, no drivers or software required. Your host device needs a USB-C port running at USB 3.1 Gen 2 or higher.

1. Connect to a tablet: Plug the hub into the USB-C port on your iPad or other USB-C host device. Use the included USB-C extension cable for a more stable connection, or if your tablet is in a case.

2. Connect your devices: Connect your display, drives, memory cards and headphones to the hub's ports.

Note: Connect a 30W power adapter or higher to the USB-C charge port to maintain charging speeds.

Ports and Features

1. USB Type-C Connector: The connector on the back of the hub that plugs directly into your tablet's USB-C port. The host port needs to run at USB 3.1 Gen 2 or higher.
2. Extension Cable: The included USB-C extension cable. Use it when your tablet is in a case, or when you want a more stable connection than plugging the hub in directly.
3. Audio Jack Port: 3.5mm jack for wired headphones or a headset.
4. USB-C Charge Port (Up to 60W): USB-C Power Delivery port that charges your host device, up to 60W. Connect a 30W power adapter or higher to maintain charging speeds.
5. SD & Micro SD Card Slots (UHS-I): SD and Micro SD slots at UHS-I speeds. Only the Micro SD card clicks into place. On iPadOS, inserted cards show up in the Files app.
6. USB-A 3.0 Port (5 Gbps): USB-A 3.0 port for data transfer at up to 5 Gbps. On an iPad you need iPadOS 13 or later to read and write external storage.
7. HDMI Video Port (4K@60Hz): HDMI output up to 4K at 60Hz. Needs a direct HDMI to HDMI cable, and an HDMI 2.0 cable is recommended to get the full 4K at 60Hz.

Important Limitations

We recommend customers use genuine cables when they are trying to sync and charge. Cables that are only rated for charging will power a device but carry no data, which looks exactly like a dead port.

Connected USB devices should not exceed an input current of 900mA. Higher-draw devices, such as bus-powered spinning hard drives, need their own power supply.

For optimal functionality, HDMI 2.0 cable is recommended (not included). An HDMI 2.0 cable is what carries 4K at 60Hz. An older cable may fall back to a lower resolution or refresh rate.

The HDMI port requires a direct HDMI to HDMI connection. Adapters, converters and cable chains between the hub and the display are not supported.

Use a 30W power adapter or higher on the USB-C charge port. A lower-wattage adapter still charges, just more slowly.

Does not support 2017 and earlier iPad models. The hub needs a USB-C port on the tablet.

Data transfer to and from USB storage needs iPadOS 13 or later. Update the iPad before you expect drives and memory cards to appear in the Files app.
