This User Manual covers setup, features, compatibility, and specifications for the Satechi Bluetooth Media Button (ST-BMB).
What's In The Box
Bluetooth Media Button, Bluetooth Button Mount, Audio Port Keychain Attachment, CR2016 Battery (pre-installed), 3M Sticker.
Product Overview
This one-button remote pairs to your phone, tablet, or computer over Bluetooth and controls whatever is playing without unlocking the screen: press to play or pause, and use it to adjust volume and skip tracks in your native audio and video apps. It mounts wherever you need it with the included clip mount and 3M sticker, or clips to a keyring with the audio port attachment. The pre-installed CR2016 coin cell runs about two years, so there is nothing to recharge.
Setup
No drivers or apps required: pair it once from your device's Bluetooth settings.
- Turn on Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is "On" on your smartphone.
- Start pairing: Press and hold the "Pairing" button until the LED is blue and blinking.
- Find the device: Check for "POP Multimedia" on the list of detected devices.
- Select it: Select "POP Multimedia" and wait for the pop up menu.
- Pair: Tap the "Pair" button on the pop up menu.
Note: The Bluetooth Media Button appears in your device's Bluetooth list as "POP Multimedia", not as "Satechi" or "Media Button".
Using Multimedia Functions
1. Open native audio or video apps.
2. Press the Satechi Bluetooth Media Button to play/pause.
3. Adjust volume and skip tracks.
Deleting and Re-Pairing Your Media Button
The pairing button is the small recessed hole on the back of the unit, and it needs a thin long tool such as a paperclip to press.
1. Press the "pairing" button on your Satechi Bluetooth Media Button using a thin long tool till the blue LED light turns on.
2. Press and hold the "pairing" button longer than 3 seconds till blue LED light blinks. Previously paired data will be deleted and it is now ready to be paired to a new device.
3. It is required to go back to the Bluetooth settings menu and click the "forget device" of "POP Multimedia" first, in case you want to re-pair the Satechi Bluetooth Media Button on your smartphone after un-pairing the previously paired Satechi Bluetooth Media Button on your phone.

Important Limitations
Compatibility: iOS Apple devices supporting Bluetooth 3.0 and later, and Android devices on OS 4.4.4 or later.
Forget the device before re-pairing: To move the button to another device, or to re-pair it to the same phone, you must first select "forget device" for "POP Multimedia" in your Bluetooth settings. Skipping this step is the most common reason re-pairing fails.
Pairing button needs a tool: The pairing button is the recessed hole on the back of the unit and requires a thin long tool, such as a paperclip, to press. The large top surface is the media button itself.
Not programmable: The button's controls cannot be remapped or customized.
Battery installation: Ensure the battery is installed correctly according to polarity (+ and -). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different brands or types of batteries such as alkaline, carbon-zinc, or rechargeable batteries. Always securely close the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the battery, and keep it away from children.
Battery disposal: Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of used batteries according to local regulations and keep away from children. Do not dispose of batteries in household trash or incinerate. Remove and recycle or dispose of the battery if the product will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not recharge or damage the battery: Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above the manufacturer's specified temperature rating, or incinerate the battery. Doing so may result in injury due to venting, leakage, or explosion resulting in chemical burns.
Ingestion hazard: This product contains a button cell or coin battery. Death or serious injury can occur if ingested. A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause internal chemical burns in as little as 2 hours. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is suspected to be swallowed or inserted inside any part of the body. Call a local poison control center for treatment information.
RF exposure: This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 5 mm between the radiator and your body, and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
